Content policy
In one breath
- Rooms are for making music together. The host is letting you into their real computer.
- No harassment, hate, sexual content, threats, self-harm content, spam, scams, impersonation, illegal goods or copyright abuse.
- The host runs their room and can remove anyone, for any reason, at any time.
- Report from inside the room. When you say so, the last sixty seconds of the stage go with it.
- Actions on an account come with the reason and an appeal.
1. What a room is for
A room is somebody's DAW, shared live, with the controls handed around by the host. Everything you do with those controls happens on their machine. Treat it as their studio: ask before you touch, put things back, do not open anything outside the DAW.
2. Not allowed
- Harassment and bullying. Targeting a person, in a room or in messages, to hurt or humiliate them. Repeated unwanted contact after being told to stop.
- Hate. Attacks on people for who they are: race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation.
- Sexual content. Sexual material on the stage, in chat or in drops. Anything sexual involving a minor is reported to the authorities.
- Threats and violence. Threatening a person, or encouraging violence.
- Self harm. Encouraging or glorifying it. If you are in danger, your local emergency number comes first.
- Spam and scams. Flooding chat, unsolicited promotion, phishing, fraud.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be another person, a label, or Prodrooms.
- Illegal goods and services.
- Copyright abuse. Sharing work you do not have the right to share. How to tell us.
- Misusing the controls. Doing anything on the host's machine beyond the DAW they shared, or damaging their project.
3. Age
Prodrooms is for people 13 and over. Accounts under 18 have some defaults set for them: messages from strangers wait in a requests folder, pictures and clips are blurred until tapped, and the account is not discoverable. Rooms marked 18+ are for people who have confirmed they are.
4. What the host can do
The host decides who is in their room. They can close the door and let people in one at a time, give and take the controls, time someone out, remove them, ban them from their rooms, switch chat, drops or drawing off, set the room to need an account with some history, and put the room in shield mode when it is being raided. None of that needs a reason from us, though a kick with a reason is recorded.
5. What we do
Reports are read by a person, in the order of how urgent the category is: someone under 18 at risk, self harm and threats within the hour; harassment, hate and sexual content within a day; the rest within three. The clip, when you sent one, is what we look at first. Actions are proportionate: a warning, a timeout, a room ban, a suspension, and only for the worst or the repeated, a closed account. Free text that trips our list is looked at by a person and is never punished automatically.
6. Reasons and appeals
Every action on an account carries the reason it was taken under and the version of this policy that applied. It shows on your standing page, where one button appeals it. A person decides the appeal.
7. Evidence
When you report from inside a room with the box ticked, the last sixty seconds of the stage as you saw it go with the report. It is kept for thirty days, or longer if a legal hold requires it, and then removed. Nothing is recorded unless you ask for it.
8. Changes
This policy has a version. When it changes you are asked to accept the new one the next time you join a room. Questions: legal@prodrooms.com.
