Prodrooms and Endlesss
A loop studio for jamming with other players. The company closed in 2024; the app has since come back under HabLab London.
What Endlesss is for
Endlesss is a loop studio built for playing with other people. You play into a looper and commit the loop, called a rifff, to a shared jam. Anyone in the jam can add to it, change it or replace it, and the new rifff reaches the others. Only audio travels, so nobody needs the plugins another player used, and a rifff can be taken into a DAW as stems. It ran on iOS, on Mac and Windows, and as a plugin inside a DAW. Endlesss Ltd closed and its servers went down on May 31, 2024. HabLab London, the organisation Imogen Heap founded, has since brought the core app back online.
The shape of the two
| Endlesss | Prodrooms | |
|---|---|---|
| What is shared | Loops, committed to audio and layered into a rifff. | The DAW window alone, live, with the host's project open in it. |
| Who can act | Everyone in the jam adds, changes or replaces layers, and each new rifff reaches the others. | One driver at a time, at the host's real mouse and keyboard; the host takes the controls back with one key. |
| Sound | Each player's loops, as audio; nobody needs another player's plugins. | The DAW's own audio in the stream, plus voice. |
| The other end installs | The Endlesss app. | Nothing. Guests join in a browser; the host runs the app on Windows. |
| Where the music ends up | Rifffs, exported as stems to finish in a DAW. | In the host's project, on the host's computer, exactly as it is. |
| Built for | Trading loop ideas back and forth, like a chat. | Sessions in a real project: feedback rooms, open mics, lessons, beat battles. |
Prices, limits and features on the other side change without telling us; check them on that product's own site. Nothing here is a score.
Where Prodrooms fits. Prodrooms fits when the work is a real project in the host's DAW, and the room should take turns at it, hear it and talk about it, with nothing for guests to install.
Where Endlesss fits. Endlesss fits when the point is jamming loops with other players and trading ideas faster than a project allows. Endlesss Ltd closed on May 31, 2024; the core app is back online under HabLab London.
